Founded in 1983, Lumber Specialties operates two facilities in Dyersville and Story City, Iowa that total more than 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space on 64 acres. Lumber Specialties produces roof and floor trusses, wall panels as well as providing engineered wood products, steel beams and laminated columns to customers throughout the Midwest. Lumber Specialties is a division of US LBM, one of the country’s leading distributors of specialty building materials.

ROOF TRUSSES
Roof trusses are a hallmark of Lumber Specialties, they are what the company was born from in 1983. As the construction industry has evolved since then so have we, implementing cutting-edge design and manufacturing processes.

FLOOR TRUSSES
Our engineered floor systems can accommodate any configuration, from clear spanning industrial spaces with our ridged floor trusses and steel beams to residential housing with our full line of Boise Cascade engineered wood products.

WALL PANELS

AG TRUSSES
Our team is knowledgeable in all aspects of agricultural (AG) trusses and framing. Our AG trusses are designed and constructed to house farm implements, hay, grain, poultry, livestock or other horticultural products.
- Trusses adhere to all current codes and standards
- Design and ship trusses up to 110’-0” long
- Special coating available for trusses installed in a corrosive environment
- Two-ply trusses can be fastened together in the shop for easier and quicker installation
- Top chord purlins can be marked for larger quantity truss runs
